SAN FRANCISCO — Legal challenge dismissed - University of California renames Hastings College of the Law because Serranus Hastings financed slaughter of native Indians.

Descendants of Serranus Hastings filed the $1.7 billion breach of contract lawsuit to prevent changing Hastings to "University of California College of the Law, San Francisco."


A similar thing was done by UC Berkeley in 2020 when Boalt Hall was renamed "UC Berkeley School of Law"
